The trunk/boot unlock is always a separate button on the key fab. Unlock usually only unlocks the driver's door when pressed once and all doors when pressed 2 times.
But if you are following the correct procedure to open the trunk/boot via your vehicle's remote, a failure of the trunk/boot opening mechanism is also a possibility. They typically have a plastic tab which can break off, disabling the trunk/boot from opening. This would have to be replaced if that were the case. A failure in the electrical circuit is another possibility.

flip the lock switch to unlock....
You have to unlock the car doors for the filler cap door to unlock. This means ALL of the doors, not just the drivers.
Are you pressing the "unlock boot switch" on your key as you turn it in the ignition? Might seem a daft question, but it happens!
the boot lock is jammed and I cant get it to unlock so that I can secure the car - how do I unlock it please? Key wont work
unlock all of the doors, either on your key or from inside the car by pressing the unlock button manually. you have to press it twice to unlock all of the doors.
Does the car door have a key slot and do you have a key for it or not
Sometimes you can open your boot by pressing the button on the boot. If that doesn't work you need to take the key out of the ignition, and press the button on the remote. You will have the central locking button on your centre console. A single press will lock and unlock the doors only. Now you press it for more than 2 seconds, which will unlock everything including the boot. Then you can just get out and push the button on the boot to open. Using this, now you don't have to turn the car off to open your boot anymore.

Use you key to unlock the doors.

As many of you probably have experienced too, Peugeot has weird locking system where sometimes you can open your boot by pressing the button on the boot or sometimes that doesn't work so you need to take the key out of the ignition, and press the button on the remote which is pain, and guess what? I left my car keys in the boot and closed.I went real panic but this is what you do. You will have the central locking button on your centre console. A single press will lock and unlock the doors only. Now you press it for more than 2 seconds, which will unlock everything including boot.
