The 2004 Toyota 4Runner came equipped with the 4.0L V6 and 4.7L V8. Both engines utilize a coil on plug design. These coils packs are located above the valve covers. The Denso part# for the V6 is 6731308 and 6731303 for the V8. You will need one coil for each plug in this application.

The Ignition control module is located under the coil which is on top of the driver side wheel well, Commonly known as an ignitor.
Igniter? is your Toyota jet powered? Your coil pack is located on the driver side fender as well as the ignition module.

The igniter is at the rear under the boot.
Attached to the ignition coil you will find an "igniter". Per the local Toyota Dealer parts dept. there is no ignition module. The igniter takes it's place. I have been trying to locate the module on my 1980 corona as well and that was the answer they gave me. It's probably attached to the same bracket the coil is mounted to
