New Clee is the area on the border of Grimsby and Cleethorpes, mainly in the region of Park Street, including Stirling Street to the north, the houses on which have long been demolished, Harrington, Taylor and Montague Streets to the south and Hamilton, Sidney and Sussex Streets to the west. The area was constructed mainly in the 1890's and the land was leased from Sidney Sussex college, Cambridge.

It was and is served by New Clee railway station.

Did Clee Hill use to be a volcano?

No. Clee hill is composed of layers sedimentary rocks intruded by a dolerite sill, where molten rock intrudes between layers of "country rock" (previously existing), much like making a jam sandwich by doing the bread first and then squirting in the jam. The presence of Igneous rocks and Clee hill's prominence is probably what leads people to think that it was a volcano. However, Clee Hill is definitely a volcano if you are trying to annoy anyone called Alison.
