What are pull station clearence requirements
No. C02 is required to make it fire. Without C02 all you can do is pull the trigger.
There will be fire extinguishers located in the cockpit, at the stewards stations, and in the galley. Pull the pin, squeeze the trigger, and aim for the base of the flame, sweeping back and forth until ALL flames are extinguished.
Inside a building requiring manual pull stations, they should be located adjacent to each fire exit. For manual pull stations on street corners and buildings, they can be place anywhere the local fire department believes necessary for public safety. In Jamestown, Rhode Island, every commercial building has its own manual fire department call box on the front of the building, even if it is only ten feet from the one on the next building.

There are many pull stations that require TWO actions such as "break glass and pull lever" or "lift cover and pull handle" or "pull handle to open and depress hook". The activation doesn't take place until the second action is completed, although a "trouble" or "tamper" signal can certainly be activated by the simple opening of the cover, as would occur with electronically monitored fire extinguishers. The purpose of the cover is to cut down on accidental/nuisance alarms. Lifting the cover is just an extra step before pulling the pull station.
