Yes. In the southeast, the highest peaks of the Great Dividing Range make up the region referred to as the Australian Alps. These mountain peaks are covered in snow during the winter months, but their height does not compare to the alps of Europe. The highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko, is only 2228m high.
