i have a 96 and its probably the same or very similar. It looks like you have four on my car but only two are o2 sensors. If your cadalitic converters are shot then its pretty much useless to change your sensors though cause they'll get messed up again. I've learned that Ford only builds these parts to last five years so your cadilitc converters probably ARE shot.

AnswerThere are three O2 Sensors on my 1999 Cougar. Two are located just before the Y-Pipe and are both wired to the drivers side of the Y-Pipe. The other is located just after the Catalyic Converter.Easy to change.

If u go to o reilleys they have a tool just for removing the sensors otherwise u could use a plyers or a cressent wrench to remove them
