THE SPARK PLUGS ARE UNDER THE INGNITON COIL PACKS MOUNTED ON THE VALVE COVERS. THERE ARE NUTS THAT SECURE THE COIL PACKS, YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THESE COVERS TO EXPOSE THE COILS WITH A SPARK PLUG BOOT MOUNTED ON THE END. WHEN REPLACING PLUGS BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE ELECTRODE BOOT. SOME PARTS STORES CARRY REPLACEMENT BOOTS , SOME REQUIRE THE COMPLETE COIL REPLACEMENT WHICH CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE.

there is a coil on each one. remove the coil and there is the plug.

Remove the spark plug wires from your 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs by turning them to the left with a deep well 5/8 socket. Reverse the process to install the new spark plugs.

Beneath the coils. There are 8 coils. 4 on each side. Remove the coils (gently), then remove the plus.
According to one of Fords websites : For a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis , 4.6 liter V8 engine : ( the spark plugs are gapped at .054 inch )
The relay is located in the engine compartment to the right of the heater hoses if you are looking at them. It dose not look like a regular rely. It has a connector that plugs into it.
Each spark plug has a coil on the top. Just remove the coil.
The original plugs should be good for around 100,000 miles ( 160,000 ) kms. Take it from there.
