Where are the spark plugs located on the Vortec 4200 gmc envoy engine?

They are along the top of the motor. You must remove the box that says Vortec 4200 on top of the motor. Under that you will see six coil packs that have the spark plugs underneath them. Carefully undo the bolts and lift them off the plugs. Remove the plugs etc.
Remember it has an aluminum head so care must be used at all times to ensure proper torque in achieved.
Plugs are designed to last 100,000 miles on these engines. If you do not have a misfire before then it is suggested to leave them alone.
