Just below and forward of the gas tank are plastic, (Mine are chromed), covers, one on each side. Pull each one out by hand. They are removed and attached by hand via plastic into rubber clips. Below these are your spark plugs, one on each side. They are set deep into the head. If you have the tool kit that came with your bike you will find the spark plug socket wrench to remove and replace your plugs. If your bike is missing it's tool kit you will need a special thin walled, deep well socket. If you cannot get from your Yamaha dealer, you may need to try Snap-On, or Matco. A regular socket will not work.
