Is Mac boot camp bad for your Mac?
Not particularly. When using Boot Camp it does repartition the hard drive (scary in the unlikely even that it goes wrong) and so you should always make backups onto an external hard drive. But Boot Camp is made by Apple and designed to run on the Mac, so I don't think it's "bad" other than the fact that you'll have a couple dozen less GB of storage for your Mac files.
