A pressure cooker is a pressure cooker. You wouldn't limit yourself to using the few recipes that came with a microwave or a toaster oven so why do it with a pressure cooker?
A Mirro Pressure Cooker is a very popular type of cooker. They are actually not very expensive to buy new, and are available in most big box housewares stores. Watch for sales to get the best deal.
I found it! I also have a 12 qt Mirro Pressure Canner/Cooker. Someone has downloaded the original instruction booklet in a PDF format online that includes the recipes. It's a 25 page booklet that would be best printed on both sides of the paper if you have that kind of printer. Don't worry about finding pages 4 & 5. They are blank anyway. Go to: http://www.pickyourown.org/canning_equipment/canner_manuals.htm Scroll down to "Mirro Pressure Canners and click on: "Click here for a Mirror Pressure canner manual." They spelled Mirro with a r but it's just a typo. Hope this helps!
Replacement parts for Mirro branded pressure cookers can be purchased directly from the Mirro website. Replacement parts can also be purchased from online marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon.
The rubber gasket in the lid between the lid and the pot? Yes, it is availible. Anyplace that sells the cooker should have the gasket. Type Mirro Pressure Cooker seal in the search engine and I think that will give you a source.

Add 2 and a half quarts of water to a mirro pressure canner that holds 7 quarts jars
I have seen on Mirro's website that the 22qt pressure canner actually doesn't fit 7 jars... as it is stated in the user's manual. You might want to have a look. For that reason, they have stopped selling it until it is fixed! Stephanie
It may have gotten it too hot and warped the metal rim- or the lid. Check it for true with a straightedge. If the pot or the lid is warped, it's time for a new cooker.

Most likly, the two handles are stuck together because of a little piece that drops from the top handle down to the bottom handle, during cooking. Take a table knife and slide it between the handles, looking closely to see where it is. Lift it up, and then separate the handles at the same time.
