Most auto parts stores should be a common part
i believe the solenoid is part of the actual starter motor. you have to change the whole starter.
The solenoid on this model is part of the starter motor, mounted directly on top of it.
The starter solenoid is physically mounted on top of the starter motor itself.
Batteries don't "click," but other parts do. If you're hearing that "click," it's probably the starter solenoid trying to engage. Either the battery's charge is low, the starter solenoid has failed, or the starter motor itself has failed. On some older cars, especially Fords, the "click" could also be a remote starter relay.
Starter motor.
Right side of vehicle under the oil filter for 4.0 engines. It is located on the starter. The solenoid is another smaller cylindrical shaped device that is mounted to the starter. If you have to replace it you have to buy the whole starter assembly that comes with a solenoid. I have not found a way to replace only the solenoid. Jeep engineered this to benefit their dealer service garages.
It's attached to the starter itself. If I remember correctly, that's a front wheel drive car, so the engine will be in a transverse layout (the cylinders go side-to-side, rather than front to back). The starter will be mounted to the bell housing, which should be on the left side of the car (driver side), at the end of the engine block.
When opened by the starter switch, it sends electricity from the battery to the starter motor to start the car.
It is mounted on the starter motor itself. When you get another starter, it will have the solenoid mounted on it already. If it is bad, just replace the starter, I would not change just the solenoid.
mounted on the top side of starter motor.
The solenoid is located on the passenger side on top of the starter motor.
