unscrew the light from the spoiler Disconnect the water hose Viola
what you would need to do is: 1, pop the trunk and remove trunk liner 2, remove the bolts for the spoiler from the trunk lid 3, remove wiring harness connector 4, lift the spoiler off the car/trunk lid 5, remove old light fixture and install new fixture (bolt/screws) the 3rd brake light is an led, or light emitting diode, so if it burns the enitre fixture will need to be replace
There is no brake light relay. There is however a brake light switch located above the brake pedal.
Check the brake light fuse first and if good you need to replace the brake light switch that is on top of the brake pedal under the dash.
sounds like you installed after market spoiler? then wired to a continuous hot source instead of splicing into brake line witch would be intermittently only when pressing on peddle!
This document by Shailesh Govekar explains in detail how to change a brake light bulb on a Audi TT Coupe 2005. http://www.interactioncenter.co.uk/Audi_TT_Coupe_2005.pdf Regards
if it's the rears and not the spoiler light then u just pull the carpeting back and twist the bulbs out if it's the spoiler brake lighgt then u should be able to either pop it open or it should have a screw or two to undo
Because you have a spoiler, Honda likely decided to not even include a light socket for the high mount brake light (behind rear window). It's because the spoiler fin blocks this high mount light anyways.Pop the trunk and check to see if a light bulb socket even exists for the high mount brake assembly. If a socket doesn't exist (and you don't see one hanging) then no worries, it was a Honda decision. This is the case for my 2000 Accord EX.
I have an 87 Aero Coupe and my 3rd brake light bulb is in my truck. I think yours would be the same too.
An additional brake light found most commonly in the rear window or on the rear spoiler of an automobile. These are required by law in some countries.
its an LED light, the whole unit has to be replaced. The spoiler needs to come off.
If you have a spoiler, its in the middle of the spoiler on the trunk lid. Otherwise it should be in the middle of the back window. If you dont have a spoiler, but have a filler panel between the rear speakers at the rear window glass, I suspect someone has removed the spoiler or replaced the original trunk lid with one without a spoiler.
