Can you legally get married without parental consent if you are underage?

Not unless you can get a court order. Don't go to Mississippi expecting that you can marry without parental consent. Mississippi requires a person to be *21* in order to get married without parental consent. I verified this information today (02/11/05) with the county clerk's office. Every state in the U.S. requires that a couple be 18 to get married without parental consent, with the exception of Mississippi (21) and Nebraska (19).

Firstly both of you are minors , so no state will allow you to get married even if all the four parents give you both written permission.

No. Actually, there are a few states in which u can get married without parental consent. In Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland and Oklahoma, they allow pregnant teens or teens who have already had a child to get married without parental consent. In Florida, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, the young couple must have authorization from a court. Maryland requires that the minor be at least 16. Can a 14 year old get married with parental consent?

No, you must be at least 16 to get married with parental consent. There are a couple of states that might allow a judge to issue a court order for a marriage, but I doubt they would do that for someone that young.Of note, in the US Territory American Samoa, the age of majority is 14, so one can get married without parental permission. In El Salvador, a male cannot get married without parental permission until age 25.See link for individual state laws.

Can you get married in the state of Arkansas without parental consent if you are a pregnant minor 17 years of age?

You will have to petition a judge with proof of pregnancy from your Dr, proof of a stable living environment for the married couple, and proof of income for the married couple. The judge will then decide what he/she thinks is best in the situation.

Should teenagers be allowed to get married without parental consent?

It is not right in todays world that teenagers should get married without the consent of both parents from both sides. First of all marriage is a serious matter, teenagers should first have good jobs, and parents of both should be there as their blessings for the couple is a must for it to work out.

Can a 17 year old get married without their parents consent?

Well it depends. All states but Nebraska require the couple to be 18 to marry without parental permission. In Nebraska it's 19. A few states waive this requirement if there is a pregnancy but then you most likely still have to have court approval. If you are pregnant/already have kids there are a few states who allow you to get married without parental consent but then you must have permission from a court. And even with parental approval, most states require court approval when you are 16 or less.

If a girl is 17 and her boyfriend is 19 and they live in Indiana can they still get married in Mississippi without parental consent?

Mississippi has no residency requirement, so, yes, even if you live in another state, you can get married in Mississippi. However, you have to have parental consent if you're *under 21*. (I did verify this today with the county clerk's office) Every state in the U.S requires that a couple be 18 in order to marry without parental consent, with the exception of Mississippi (21) and Nebraska (19). The only way to get married in any state at 17 without parental consent is to get court approval, but I have no idea what that would involve. And I wonder if by the time you got approval (assuming that you did) you wouldn't be 18 anyway--it's been my experience that the courts don't move incredibly quickly.

Can you get married at age 15 if you have a baby with the other person without parental concent?

Not likely, most places require you to be at least 16 to obtain a marriage license even with parental consent. There are a couple of states where a court order may allow it, but they don't like doing it.

Yes, you can legally move in without their permission. They had to give permission for you to get married and that emancipates you.

Where can minors marry without parents consent?

Pretty much nowhere in the US. Offhand I can't think of any state that allows those under the age of 18 to marry without parental consent, with two notable exceptions: In some states minors are allowed to marry despite not having parental consent if the female half of the couple is pregnant, and in some states a judge is allowed to give consent in lieu of parental consent (though in practice this tends to boil down to essentially the same thing, as a judge is unlikely to override parental authority without an extremely compelling reason, such as pregnancy).

Marriage laws in Maryland for a minor?

A person must be 18 to get married in Maryland. If they are under 18, parental consent is required, though there are exceptions:If the woman to be married is pregnant or has given birth, and a licensed doctor provides a certificate of such, then a person age 16 or 17 (be it the male or female of the couple, or both) can get married without consent of the parent. If a party is 15 years old, then a marriage is only legal if they have parental consent and the woman is pregnant or has given birth.A person 14 and under cannot get married at all in Maryland, no matter the circumstances.

Where can a 17 year old girl get married to an 37 year old guy?

Every state in the US will allow a 17 year old girl to marry with parental and/or judicial consent. (Some states require both, some allow either, but in practice, judicial consent is only granted without parental consent if the couple can show very good reason they should be allowed to get married. The girl being pregnant is normally considered "very good reason," but with such a large age disparity that opens a whole other can of worms, namely statutory rape.) Assuming you don't have parental consent: The minimum age without parental/judicial consent is 18 in every state with the exceptions of Nebraska where it's 19 and Mississippi where it's 21. So wait a year and you can do it almost anywhere. If you don't still want to get married in a year, then you shouldn't be getting married in the first place.

Where can you get married under age 18 without parental consent and which states would perform an underage marriage for a same-sex couple?

The minimum age for marriage in all US states that have legalized same-sex marriage is 18. (Younger persons can marry with parental consent, judicial consent, or both.) However, a 16-year-old can marry in Québec, Canada. Same-sex marriage is also legal in Canada.

Can a 15 year old girl get married with a 20 years boy with parents consent?

Probably not. In most states you must be at least 16 to get married, even with parental consent. There are a couple that will allow it that young, but it sometimes requires them to have a court order. Check the laws for your state.

If you and your boyfriend are both sixteen and have a baby where can you get married without parental consent?

DEPENDS ON WHAT STATE YOU LIVE IN. I KNOW IN GEORGIA THAT YOU CAN GOT TO THE COURTHOUSE AND GET MARRIED(IF YOU ARE PREGNANT) WITHOUT YOUR PARENTS PREMISSION. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF MORE STATES I AM JUST NOT SURE WHICH ONES. Georgia, Maryland and Florida allow minors to marry w/o parental permission if they are pregnant or have had a child. Such laws however do not apply to every situation, cases are decided on an individual basis.
