I have a tortoise and was told to buy mustard/collard/spring greens and searched everywhere on the internet and found nothÿing on where to get them. But I was out shopping and I found them at those vegtable market stalls/ shop things that sell all that fruit and veg sort of thing. But if your American or anywhere that have grocers, try there. You will defo find them anywhere like that. :)
Yes, though mostly in the American South, where they have always been a widely grown crop. Few Northern gardeners who were not raised in the South grow mustard greens, or are even familiar with them.
Yes. They are both from the Brassica family of cruciferous vegetables. Mustard greens have a more pungent, peppery flavor.
Yes, you can freeze mustard greens. You must wilt the greens in a large pot of water, then store them in freezer bags.
Yes normally
The best greens to feed a turtle are collard greens, mustard greens and kale.
I bought kale yesterday in the store by mistake. I usually buy her mustard greens. Can I feed her this bunch of kale (along with the collards and squash and minimal fruit she usually gets) and then go back to the mustard greens? I can return the kale to the store and exchange it for the mustard but figured I'd check first. Thanks!
