Spring powered air guns tend to shoot harder. C02 will only shoot about 500 FPS spring can reach 1200 FPS ( Feet per second) BUT: PCP air guns are charged to 3000 psi and can fire over 1500 FPS. PCP air rifles are the fastest and hardest hitting air weapons. (They use a scuba tank to charge them)
If you are talking about guns and rifles it would most likely be a Feinwerkbau 800X PCP Air Rifle. You can find it at the link below.http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Feinwerkbau_800X_PCP_Air_Rifle/2771
Crosman owns both the Benjamin and Sheridan line of air guns. See the link below for the Marauder parts list and the customer contact page for Crosman ( They sell parts for the PCP rifle.)
Walther gets my vote. --------------------- New Answer--------------------------------------------------------- The finest .177 calibre air rifles are Olympic Competition .177 air rifles. These will fall to the Feinwerkbau line of Olympic rifles. However these are not cheap. The average cost is around $2500. Next in line are rifles made by AirForce airguns. Benjamin PCP airguns, Webley & Scott PCP air guns, Daystate LTD airguns and a few other PCP (PreCharged Pneumatin) air gun companies. Crosman, Gamo and Avante make fine air guns and rifles but are not as accurate as the ones previously mentioned.

The most powerful BB guns are not really that powerful. However "Pellet guns" are much more powerful. Take a look at the PCP line of airguns at pyramydair.com They use a scuba tank to charge the guns with air. BB guns fire about 350 to 450 feet per second. PCP's can fire well over 1000 feet per second.
From My understanding New Zealand has some strict gun laws when it comes to the PCP class of air guns. See the link below. I do not think you can have it shipped directly to you. In fact, Amazon has most likely dealt with this situation before. I believe you should check with an ARMS Officer before you place an order. It's best to be safe rather than deal with a problem after the fact. BTW I own both the Marauder rifle (.25 cal) and the pistol (.22 Cal) and I can say they are extremely wonderful to shoot. Fortunately for me I live in California and we have no restrictions on PCP class air guns.
