Non-Ethanol 87 Octane Regular Unleaded fuel.
No, its bad for your engine Sure you can mix them as long as your vehicle has a flex fuel engine. You can also mix then in a non flex fuel engine as long as you do not mix more than 10% ethanol with plain gasoline.
I'm not sure if you have them there, but BP stations usually don't have ethanol in their fuel.
Yes, adding gasoline without ethanol will reduce the affects of ethanol by diluting it. You do not say which effects of ethanol you wish to reduce. What follows is true but sarcastic and not actually recommended. If you add almost anything non fuel to your fuel tank such as water it will reduce the effects of ethanol. Specifically it will reduce the effect of powering your engine.
When the gas station pump is marked that the fuel contains ethanol then all grades of their fuel contains it, including supreme. There are a few places that sell non ethanol fuel, especially near boat dock and boat ramps because ethanol in boat motors causes issues.
FlexFuel means you can run both gasoline and ethanol in the vehicle. Ethanol is corrosive so the fuel system has to be plastics to not corrode in contact with ethanol.
You can't. MTBE has been outlawed so all fuel in MA now contains up to 10% ethanol.
43 hours non stop
I'm asking the same question, just spent $500 (reasonable, too) replacing fuel pump, filter, sending unit due to ethanol deterioration. I know of a Shell station that has "Marine Gas" which is 89 octane non-ethanol, for the price of their 93 octane.
ethanol added to the gas pump is leading to less mileage for my car. Where can I find non ethanol gas stations on the west coast of Fl.?
Do not start the vehicle, and do not attempt to drive it. The vehicle will need to be towed to a location were the tank can be emptied. If someone attempted to start the car, you need to have all fuel lines drained, and the fuel filter replaced. It might also be advisable to have the integrity of any rubber hoses or o-rings in the fuel system checked. Ethanol can damage non-compatible components such as non-compatible rubber lines, o-rings, injectors, and in some cases even fuel pumps.
