In addition to roll bar kits, you can have your local stereo shop make boxes for 6x9 speakers and mount them in the back on top of the rear fenders.

I order boxes that fit 6X9 behind the front seats right where the roll bar is...they are plastic and wrap around the roll bar...work perfect had them for years also in an ideal location that doesnt take up space and protects from the elements since it is mounted vertical...

AnswerWe have a CJ5. My best conclusion would also put in on the roll bar or the underside or where normally the glove box would be. You can keep the Stereo or which ever you use under neath the passenger seat; there should be a compartment that flips up and open.
Besides that there's always the compartment to the left of the steering wheel.
