undo the 3 Philips screws in the holes under the steering column. separate the 2 halfs of the column cover buy pressing on the seam. remove the cover. there are 2 screws that hold the switch in... one above and one below and 1 harness connector. remove the screws and disconnect the connector. that is it.
Buy a repair manual, or go to the Library.
go to eBay and buy a whole setup for the steering column

One to repair an ignition switch on your Astro Van is buy a replacement steering column from a local salvage yard including the ignition key, and replace the whole steering column. RC Houston, TX

Steering Column, Fixed and Tilt Removal WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR AIR BAG SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY (10655) AND A BACKUP POWER SUPPLY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE MINUTE TO DE-ENERGIZE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY PRIOR TO REMOVING ANY OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM COMPONENTS. NOTE: All components of the steering column are assembled with fasteners which are designed to prevent loosening due to vibrations associated with normal vehicle operation. 1. Disconnect transmission control selector indicator loop from transmission column shift selector tube (7212). Remove screw and transmission control selector indicator (7A110) from steering column. 9. Remove steering shaft-to-intermediate shaft universal joint pinch bolt. 10. Remove four nuts securing steering column to instrument panel reinforcement (04545). 11. Lower steering column to floor. 12. Using screwdriver, snap shift cable off of selector lever arm. 13. Using screwdriver, lift tab on shift cable retainer and remove shift cable from bend bracket. 14. Remove steering column from vehicle. Installation 1. Position steering column on floor of vehicle. 2. Push shift cable retainer into slot on bend bracket and snap shift cable end onto shaft of selector lever arm. 3. Insert steering column shaft into universal joint, (part of intermediate shaft) making sure cutout in steering column shaft aligns with universal joint pinch bolt hole. 4. Raise steering column into position onto instrument panel reinforcement studs. 5. Install instrument panel steering column opening brace. 6. Install four nuts securing steering column. Tighten to 13-17 N-m (112-153 lb-in). 7. Install steering column shaft-to-universal joint pinch bolt. Tighten to 40-54 N-m (30-40 lb-ft). 8. Install transmission control selector indicator. Connect cable loop to transmission column shift selector lever. 9. Connect main wiring to steering column electrical connectors. Connect shift lock actuator (3Z719). 10. Install instrument panel steering column cover reinforcement and tighten screws to 10-14 N-m (88-123 lb-in). 11. Install instrument panel steering column cover and tighten screws to 2.1-2.9 N-m (19-25 lb-in). 12. Install steering wheel as outlined in this section.
