musical 3 pin IC UM66 and a popularly known Transistor BC548b
um66 is a melody generator cmos ic it is a three terminal ic pin no: 1 is set to ground, and pin 2 is Vdd pin 3 is the output melody signal this ic generally operates from 1.5 to 5 volts it is generally used in toys, bells etc................
It will generate a music signal by taking a less voltage at its input side.we can use it in our commercial applications
This circuit generates a sweet melody for two minutes when it detects the shadow of a moving person. It uses the ROM IC UM66 to produce the melody. The music stops automatically. LDR is used as the light sensor. In day light, its resistance is low and conducts. This keeps the base of T1 high and it remains off. When the shadow of the moving person falls on the LDR, its resistance increases and the current flowing through it decrease. T1 then conducts and C1 charges. This provides power to IC UM66. Zener diode ZD is used to regulate the supply voltage to UM66 to 3 volts. When UM 66 gets 3 volts supply, it oscillates and the music tone from it will be amplified by T2 which can be heard through the speaker

We used capacitor in UM66 because capacitors are used to store the energy, and hence when we press the switch it will charged the capacitor and energy stored in it, and after releasing the switch it releases the energy. So, we can use the capacitor to store the energy.
what is the function of ic UM66.plz tel me
The UM66 is an electronic doorbell. It requires a botton for the door, a single transistor, a battery and a speaker.
ic um66 is a melody generator with 3 terminals (1-o/p, 2-vcc,3-grnd)
The UM66 is an electronic doorbell. It requires a button for the door, a single transistor, a battery and a speaker.
A UM66 is an IC or integrated circuit that generates a pleasing music sound. It works on a supply voltage of 3 volts.
UM66 is a type of circuit used in electronics. It can be replaced with BT66 if a replacement is needed.

no there is no similarity. they both use for same purpose to produce melody tone in alarm
