I have a 53D that was given to me by my grand father. He bought it brand new in '45. I can't be specific then that.
Their maximum speed is listed as 315 km/h.
My Grandfather taught my Mom how to shoot with it and he taught my brother and I how to shoot with this particular rifle. Bolt action and loaded one 22 caliber round at a time, it requires you to learn how to shoot properly giving thought to each round. Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of WWII, had to put food on the table, so blasting away with rounds his family couldn't afford in rural Texas wasn't an option. And, whatever you shoot as a soldier you have to carry and with nothing to shoot you can imagine the problems. I have seen lots of similar rifles selling used for hundreds of dollars and read from some idiot that this rifle has NO collectibility. Buy it and use it, the rifle seems to be a bargain. My Grandfather left home at 12 to punch cattle across the West, his dad was in the U.S. Calvary. If he had this rifle then you can bet your butt it is one to have. If some idiot wants to part with it for a fraction of what the better known makers want, then it is his or her loss.
