I have a j Stevens model 1915 (Favorite) Long Rifle Lever Action Rifle, Serial Number 115. If my memory serves me correctly my father told me he received it for his 12th birthday in 1924. It is in excellent condition. I had it refinished (metal and wood) several years ago. Big mistake I am told. Hope this helps.

I don't see any J Stevens .22 lever action repeaters in any of the books. You have an unusual rifle that sounds like it may have been rechambered for .218 Bee or it may be a custom factory special order. You should have it examined by a gunsmith or advanced collector. For the most part yes it is.A bit of honing will take place as the lever is worked over time causing a more smooth lever throw,as with any lever action rifle.
