There is no conversion kit made for that, you need to just get a set of V8 motor mounts and bolt them in and then you can drop the V8 in.
These are sideways motors so the replacements of the motor mounts is not an easy job. I suggest that if you can not find them you should not try to replace them. There are two at the top of the motor at both ends. (near both fender wells. And then there are mounts on the transaxle. (transmission).
In a repair manual.
There is always a company that sells motorcycle parts, so it's so easy to find an automotive company that sells or manufacture motor mounts for your desired vehicle.
I need price on motor mounts and cvc jounts Yahoo Groups has a very helpful group; villagerquest. It is here you find the answer(s).
Look up Schumacher motor mounts. Schumacher is a company in Seattle that sells "conversion mounts" that makes it EASY to swap that old leaning tower of power. Keep in mind that 70-72 has different mounts than 73-76 cars and 318 mounts are different than 340-360 mounts (boss on drivers side is smaller on the 340/360). The transmission mount is the same. You can find Schumacher mounts on eBay or google them and they are excellent at making sure you get the right mounts. I just did a 340 in my 76 Duster with EASE.
If switching the mounts around don't help, then the 88 motor must be from another casting. If you still want to use it you'd have to find a way of either modifying the part that bolts to the block, or move the part that's in the engine bay.
You can find your vehicle specific motor mount at your local auto parts store like advance auto or Auto Zone. Or just visit your local autoshop and have them do the work for you.
it should but you might need to find new motor mounts to fit
i need m0unts for a 78 f350 with a 300 ci in line 6
You need to support the engine when removing any mounts. The mounts bolt to the engine, and bolt to the unibody of the car. You can find the locations of all of the engine mounts by hunting around the engine bay or by picking up a Chiltons and Haynes manual.
Just ordered the motor mounts from the Buick dealer in Dalton, Ga, came in over night, the transmission mount near the fire wall costs a little over $300. Hope this helps.Vernon
Any major auto parts chain store, like autozone, or napa will have them.
Mounts vary in complexity. A simple mount has the purpose of holding the telescope steady. Fancier mounts can have built in motor drives and even computers to find and track stars as they move across the sky.
I'm trying to find that site that has 4.3 V6 motor frame mounts for a 1986 Chevy C10 pickup. PLease help me locate it ? I would appreciate it very much. thank you.
I am having the same issue with my 97 Geo Prizm. I had my mechanic look at it. He slightly jacked up the motor and said the vibration wnet away and as he suspected it was the worn out motor mounts. It is worse in the winter when it is cold. I am in the process of replacing the motor mounts now, but the cheapest I can find them is almost $300 on the web. Good luck
if you can find a kit the conversion is easy to do, it just bolts on, you can put the key swich any place by the motor
Yes it will. Just wanted to know where to find a kit to do the swap, motor mounts,headers,ect...ect.. ?
You are able to find mounts in the wilderness or purchase them from general stores
The FWD Chrysler Pacifica has 2 Motor Mounts. They are the same part number and known as either the front & rear or left & right mounts...all the same thing. The Pacifica also has two additional mounts which typically fail. One of them is the Transmission Mounnt and the other is the Rear Torque Strut. You can find a kit that includes all of the above for a complete mount replacement on sites like Amazon in the $120 to $150 range. They are typically made by DEA or MotorKing.
You can find ceiling mounts for a flat screen TV from stores such as Walmart. Alternatively, you can also purchase these mounts from retailers such as Amazon and Wayfair.
I can find no "fd" in official measurements
go to a chevy dealer and im sure they will tell you, for no cost ! maybe they can tell you at auto-zone etc.
You Don't. First off, it'll be hell trying to get a rear wheel driver motor into a Front wheel drive car.... and if you decide to go ahead, you'll have to design and fabricate motor mounts out of poly and either Bar stock or 6061-t6 billet aluminum.
