All newspapers maintain a morgue of some kind. That is a copy of each edition of every paper they produced. Don't expect to fnd it on line. Some will charge for a search, some have lost their files through fire or flood and as an option, libraries at the county seat or in the state capital may contain a copy of the document that you are seeking. One of the great archives in the world regarding births, deaths and relationships and genealogy is held by the Church of Later Day Saints (LDS). They have a research staff that is skilled and cooperative.

Libraries/Plastic Models of: Jets, Riverine Boats, and Tanks used during war. Those kits "used to" have a history behind them, written in the introduction of the directions for building them. They don't often now, but during the 1960's and 1970's plastic model kits often gave more knowledge than some television shows did.

TV on the other hand, although far more accessible and easier to use, is quite often INCORRECT when they air. For example: the narrator will mis-identify a Japanese WWII cruiser as a destroyer, or vice a versa. Or during an amphibious landing in Europe, Palm Trees will be observed on the beachead (obviously Pacific War footage being spliced into a European scene); another, US Marines will be mis-identified as US Soldiers. Still more, Japanese light tanks will be mis-identified as medium tanks or even "main battle tanks", a term which didn't officially enter common usage until after 1960.
