It was probably made for Sears by one on the major pellet gun manufacturers in business in the thirties. Use a search engine for pellet 'gun repair' or 'air gun repair' and talk to those folks. They should be able to tell you what you have. You may have to show them pictures if you are able. berto

How much would a 1930s JC Higgins baseball glove worth?

1930's JC Higgins Baseball GloveYou did not mention the model of the glove, and if it had a player endorsement. The bulk of the value of a collectible glove relies on the player that endorsed it. Without one it will have a low collectors value, and rely on vintage baseball glove features, web style etc. Most likely the glove being from the 1930's it is a split finger, and without an endorsement would sell for below $30. Condition is a major factor as well.

Was J C Higgins a real person who worked for Sears?

Sort of. John Higgins was an accountant. Some PR guy thought the name sounded outdoorsey and added the middle initial. The name was used on Sears sporting goods from 1908 until 1961. The brand name, J. C. Higgins, was based on a real person, John Higgins, a Sears employee from 1898 until his retirement as head bookkeeper in 1930. Higgins died in 1950. His expertise in sporting goods or sports is unknown.
