$950-1100 Adjustable butt plate decreases value. No longer original stock.
The pre-64 winchester model 70 featherweight rifles are currently valued at between 425 dollars for a rifle with 60% original finish remaining up to 1,000 dollars for a fine example with 90%original finish remaining. You could also add 20% to the above stated values if your rifle has a aluminum butt plate.
The only rifle that comes to mind after reading your description is the spencer rifle.Especially a rifle that feed through the buttstock.I do not believe that Winchester ever produced a spencer carbine either during or after the civil war.
The original butt plate and stock on pre-serial number 1500000 early model 94s were crescent-shaped. This style was common on Winchester Model 1894 rifles manufactured during that time period.
My records indicate that the winchester model 62 rifles were only made in the quantity of 410,456 rifles. The last ones made in the year 1959.I would check and see if you have the correct model number to your Winchester.
With the serial number that you have provided, your Winchester model 1894 rifle was made in the year 1938.A Winchester model 1894 of this age will bring a minimum of between 400-550 dollars. If your rifle has alot of original finish remaining, and a good bore it could be up to 600 dollars. If your rifle has any special order features such as shotgun style butt stock, half octagon half round barrel, half magazine, checkered butt stock, special order wood etc. then it may bring in excess of 1,000 dollars.
The butt plate on a 1951 Winchester Model 94 was typically made of metal. You may be able to find a replacement butt plate by searching online gun parts retailers, auction sites, or contacting gunsmiths who specialize in vintage firearms.
Yes...1200, 1300, 1400, 120 and 140 Butt stocks are interchangeable.
My research indicates that the Winchester model 1904 single shot rifle had the same stock as the model 1900,and 1902.These stocks were of a one piece straight grip design. They were made of gum wood, and did not have a fitted butt plate.Winchester made a total of 302,859 rifles between 1904-1931.
We have original inner magazine tube assemblies for that rifle in stock. sales@countrygunsmith.net
