The best way to get a rabbit is to adopt. Countless rabbits are waiting for new homes, including bunnies that were left unwanted! Rabbit adoption facilities are also great for giving you information, especially if you're a first time owner. The internet is a great place to look for a rabbit adoption area near you. Vet clinics that deal with exotics such as rabbits are also great resources for locating bunny adoption facilities. Do your best to avoid "pet store" bunnies, they are often factory bunnies and the purchase of them encourages bunny factories to continue. These are inhumane ways to breed and sell rabbits, especially when so many bunnies are born and given to adoption centers and need homes!
I got my rabbit from a rabbit shower that didnt want him or his brother because the didnt have manes like there other 4 siblings :( he was a dutch lionhead, but he only looks like a brown dutch, with a white nose! But these that arent "showable" are often left in the wild to be killed, like my rabbits brother. :'( so plz dont buy from a pet shop! The bunnies may seem cute but they are costy, live for about 6 months, have countless health problems, and freak around people. Not to mention some pet stores have the gut to LIE about there speices! My friend bought a "mini rex" bunny at pet land, and it got 3 feet long! So plz, help the bunnies that really need your help.
