The C230 Kompressor already has a supercharger on it from the factory. The word Kompressor means Supercharger.
It's an Eaton M62 roots type positive displacement supercharger with an electro-magnetic clutch
in the engine left of the supercharger.
The noise is due to bad gears or bearings in your rear differential.
One does not simply take the radio out of a 1999 c230 kompressor.
If you mean the supercharger look under intake box. Has a Eaton label on it.
supercharger coupler / bearings
It is important to know the capacity for the fluids in a car. For a 1999 Mercedes c230 Kompressor has an engine oil capacity of 6.1 quarts.
That is a major sign that the supercharger is going bad and will need a rebuild. Basically the seal is leaking from the front nose cone. The seal usually leaks when the bearings have gone bad. The two best options will to replace the front nose cone, or get a rebuilt supercharger. Once the oil starts to leak the bearings will have no oil and it will soon fail on you.

It takes 2 bottles of the GM supercharger oil (or Ford supercharger oil, they are the same product). Do not try to substitute anything else for it either. It is a specialized oil built for the iron bearings that are used in these superchargers.
There is a noise on the top of my 96 S/C buick riviera engine (in the supercharger housing) Sounds to me like bearings? How do Ilubricate S/C? And when do I Change this lubricant?
