The 1992 Chevy Corvette front speaker covers are held in place with two retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws and the speaker covers will come off.

You don't need to remove front door panels, the speaker grills come out.
front speakers are located in the door panels. the size is 6x8 or 5x7

On a 1986 Cabriolet, the fuse panel is located on the firewall in front of the driver's left knee under the dash. The 1986 and 1985 are almost identical in all respects, so that is where it should be on a 1985.
You will need to remove the front speaker covers. The speaker covers are held in place with two retaining screws. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speakers. Reverse the process to install your new speakers.
They are front and back the odd size of 5x7 but u can use an adapter to put in 6x9 with a speaker with a small enough magnet. Don't make the mistake on front speakers to not remove the entire door panels. many rip off the speaker covers. Also it depends if you have a premium amp sound system then it gets abit more complicated!
If the panels are like the 95 and 96 models, you don't need to remove door panels....carefully pop the grill covers off the door panels...there is a speaker mount behind the grill...remove the 4 speaker screws and your done. Start with the top of the grill and pull gently downward. There are metal clips on the cover and plastic hooks to the side which all hold it in place. Slow and careful is the name of the game here.
take the inside door panels off and then you can unbolt the speaker from the door.
