There is no direct replacement for the AC Tensioner pully assembly on the Metro autos. Bearing replacement is the only way to fix this item since no one makes it.
Rubber sealed Bearing No.# 6006 DUL1 - (Google: '6006-2RS 6006-ZZ Radial Ball Bearing 30X55X13' or find it at: http://www.thebigbearingstore.com/servlet/the-453/6006-dsh-2RS-6006-dsh-ZZ-Radial-Ball/Detail
It retails for about $3.00 with $3.65 shipping. I haven't replaced the bearing yet but others have so it can be done at home using oversized/exact sized sockets and a drift. Good luck!
The tensioner bolt for a 96 Cavalier is in the pulley for the tensioner. The tensioner is in the middle of the front of the engine.
on the front of the engine on the serpentine belt, it's bolted directly to the engine.
The tensioner is the arm on the passenger side of the engine near the front that has a pulley on the end and controls the tension of the serpentine belt. www.trailvoy.com
On a 1990 Chevy Corsica, the tensioner pulley is typically located on the front of the engine, mounted on the engine block. It is part of the accessory drive belt system and is positioned near the alternator and power steering pump. The tensioner pulley helps maintain proper tension on the serpentine belt, ensuring that the engine accessories function correctly. You may need to remove the engine cover or other components for better access to it.
If you include the model year and engine size, you might get more help.
Put the serpentine belt on to the pulleys of your 1994 Chevy engine. Tighten a serpentine belt with the tensioner pulley.
It is the small pulley with a nut in the middle on the pulley assembly!
No, the tensioner pulley and the idler pulley are not the same, although they serve similar functions in a vehicle's serpentine belt system. The tensioner pulley is designed to maintain the proper tension on the belt, while the idler pulley guides the belt and helps maintain its path. In a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, the tensioner pulley is adjustable to compensate for belt wear, whereas the idler pulley is typically fixed.
I don't believe there is an idler pulley on that model, just a tensioner pulley
Pry bar.
If you're standing at the front of the truck and looking into the engine compartment the tension pulley is on the left side about half way down.
You can change the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. When the tensioner pulley is loose and the serpentine belt will become loose. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten the tensioner pulley.
