I have complete histories of both the 320th Infantry Regiment as well as the 35th Infantry Division. Please contact me with any questions that you may have. Richard V. Horrell WW 2 Connections.com I'm sorry for the delay but I appreciate any information on Company A of the 35th Division, 1st Battalion, 320th Infantry. I have the booklets that were given to my grandfather right after WWII, about the histories of the 35th Division and one on the history of the 320th Infantry. What I am looking for is something with names in it. I would love to find like a list of survivors with my grandfathers name in it. Or any kind of war documentation that has his name, Pfc. Jessie Lee McKay, in it. He was drafted out of Fayette, Alabama and made a great life for himself after going thru the Horror that WWII had to give. But where are his and all the other survivors stories? Where is it written what the survivors contributions were? Where are the survivors names written to be remembered?

Did the US Order of Battle on D-day include Negro infantry regiments?

There were only two all-black Infantry Divisions in WW2: 91st and 92nd Division. There were some independent infantry regiments and other support troops, including a tank battalion. The 320th Anti-aircraft Artillery Balloon Barrage Battalion was an all-black unit that landed on D-Day. Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2009/06/05/2009-06-05_allblack_battalion_that_landed_in_normandy_france_on_dday_to_be_honored_on_anniv.html The 761st Tank Battalion, the first all-black armored unit to enter combat during WWII, arrived in France soon after WW2 and was eventually assigned to General Patton's army. This is the most famous black unit in France. The 3275th Quartermaster Service Company landed on Omaha Beach but I'm not sure if it was the first day, as supply units may not have arrived that soon. In conclusion, I would say there were NO all-black infantry regiments that landed on D-Day on 6 June.

What German divisions fought at the battle of the bulge?

The German attack fell mostly on the US First Army. The US Ninth Army was north of the First, and the British were north of the Ninth Army. Because the German breakthrough appeared as though it were going to reach a small Belgian town through which the landlines strung by Signal Corps troops for telephone communications ran, Eisenhower made the decision to place the troops north of the German breakthrough temporarily under the command of the 21st Army Group, commanded by Montgomery, until the troops north and south could cut through the Bulge and reunite - about eight or nine days. This put Montgomery over US troops, and after the battle was stabilized he made some outlandish claims trying to seize credit for having to "rescue" the incompetent Americans. This was par for the course for Montgomery, yet another of his "what a good boy am I" pronouncements, and came very near to causing his relief by Eisenhower. British newspapers took their cue from Montgomery's overstatements and presently Churchill was obliged to remind the House of Commons that "The Americans have engaged thirty or forty men for every one we have engaged, and have lost sixty to eighty men to every one of ours."The primary role of British troops was in guarding the crossings of the Meuse River, the initial German objective, which freed American troops from that duty to join the battle. The British troops involved were from the XXX Corps, which included the 6th Airborne Division, the 51st (Highland) Division, the 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division, the 29th Armoured Brigade and the 33rd Armoured Brigade. The Corps reserve was the Guards Armoured Division, the 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division, and the 43rd (Wessex) Infantry Division !

Where are the Army reserve MP units in Florida?

There are a few reserve MP units in FL. There are MP Battalions in Tallahassee (160th MP BN), Tampa (317th MP BN) and Ft. Myers (724th MP BN). I do not believe that the 160th and 724th have any companies because they are an I/R battalion. The 317th has 3 companies: 351st MP Co (Ocala, FL and Detachment in Jacksonville, FL) 810th MP Co (Tampa, FL and Detachments in Ft. Lauderdale and Ft. Myers) 320th MP Co (St Petersburg) There is also the 418th MP Co in Orlando, FL.
