most good image editors can make or edit both formats - they are both similar but each has advantages - gif can be used to make animations and has one level of transparency either on or off - png can have 256 levels of transparency and some image editors can work with pngs in millions of colors gif was the original internet image format but it was copyrighted and the creeps that designed it wanted to start charging everyone that used gifs a fee to do so - that is why png format was created, to give a free image format for the internet - but the attempts to collect fees for gif use didnt work and jpgs came along so the png format has been mostly neglected - but png format is a good one and all browsers as far as i know still support it
Save them to your computer, upload them, delete them. Or make sure you type the complete URL with http:// and the format must be .jpg, .gif, or .png

You can convert images to text on the newocr website and Google Docs. You simply upload an image file, such as PNG, JPG, and GIF, that you would like to convert.
The problem could be the format of the files you're using. Some websites only take certain formats such as .jpg, .png, .gif, etc. Also, the websites may only want you to give the file path.
