From the dealership....oh wait they are gone?
Remove the Right wheel and inner plastic fender which will allow you access to the tensioner side of the motor. There will be a few bolts holding into place on the block. Remove the bolts and remove the entire tensioner assembly. Reverse for replacement.
the tensioner assembly is bolted to the side of the engine block. the spring is contained within the assembly. View my BIO for access to my Saturn help site. there is a picture of the assembly under the Serpentine belt folder
The serpentine belt is held by tention with a automatic belt tensioner. If the serpentine belt is loose, you will most likely have to replace the entire belt tensioner assembly. the assembly comes with a new pully. Please visit my bio for a link to my Saturn help site for pictures of the assembly.
The serpentine belt you can look at the diagram in your engine compartment for actual routing. The tensioner mounts to the left side of the engine. You need to unbolt the whole assembly. Actually, the belt can be loosened by tightening the bolt of the tensioner pulley. When fully tightened, the pulley will act as a swivel.
Most Saturn replacement parts are moderately priced.
the tensionjer is a spring tensioner so if it is to low and not holding tension on the belt you need a new tensioner
You don't, they have a tension pulley that does that automatically. If the belt is too loose, the pulley most likely has to be replaced. Check your tensioner
u do not adjust belt tensioner if belt is loose, u need to replace belt as tensioner works automatically
