Actually they may be right in front of you. If you go to the section at your local book store they should be next to the manga version. I go to the book store at my mall and they have different editions of the light novel. You can also check beforehand on the internet at Borders.com or Barnes and Nobles' website to see if they carry it. At some book stores they can special order it for you if you ask. If worst comes to worst just look on Amazon.com I highly recommend them.
You can purchase "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" light novels from various online retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Right Stuf Anime. You can also check for availability at your local bookstore or comic book shop.
Haruhi Suzumiya is the name of a series of novels authored by Nagaru Tanigawa. The series contains anime drawings, and has been adapted into television programs, movies, and more.
The original source is a series of light novels, but there have been both a manga and anime based off of it. The manga can be read here: http://www.mangafox.com/page/manga/series/96/the_melancholy_of_haruhi_suzumiya/
It isn't clear when the events of the Haruhi Suzumiya series take place, so we can't currently know for sure when she was born. The original novel was released in 2003, and in Japan, high school starts with 10th grade. This means she's most likely 15 at the start of the series, putting her birth year in the late 1980's. Still, there are a lot of arguments for the novels taking place in different years, so we won't know for sure until it's made clearer.
I wouldn't call what Kyo-Ani has done with the series thus-far "trolling". I think it's incredibly myopic and self-centered to assume that the vision of the artist should always coincide with the expectations of the viewer. However, regardless of how you feel about what they did with "Endless 8" in the second season, a lot of people were put off by it. If that frustration translates to poor DVD sales, the chances that Haruhi will get a season 3 might not be so great. That all having been said, nobody really knows at this point. As was the case leading up to Season 2, we'll just have to wait and see. I know that's not much of an answer, but as it stands, that's the best you're likely to get. there most likely will be now :) thx to the fansite and them going there consetly they will now most likely moke another season about 70/30 chance. With the release of the "Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" movie and its great success I wouldn't doubt that they would continue making anime episodes based off the Light Novels that are still being released every so often, the 10th being the most recent. There is still a lot of the story to tell considering the Haruhi movie and past 2 seasons of 26 episodes which use the stories from the first 5 novels out of the 10 total released ATM (possible continuation from 11 onwards). My best guesses are some time in 2012 (that's a guess if its even released at all)
You can purchase graphic novels by graphic artists online from the Amazon website. Once on the page, type "Graphic Novel" into the search field at the top of the page to bring up a list of available graphic novels.
Adult graphic novels can be purchased at bookstores, comic book shops, online retailers such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble, as well as directly from publishers. It's always a good idea to check for age restrictions and content warnings before making a purchase.

One may purchase gay romance novels in most large bookstores. Barnes & Noble sells such novels, and eBooks is a great place to find a wide variety of both self-published and traditionally published novels. Local bookstores are often more likely to have these types of literature, since some business owners may be more selective of what they put on their shelves when they cater to a wider range of customers. One can always try their local library as well, since sometimes they do have book sales and charge very low prices for their gently used books.
