Any of the beaches North of Hilo Bay, up towards Papaikou. If you are not kamaaina (local folks) may not be wise to be wandering around there after dark. You can also try the Tsunami Park in Hilo, but to see moonrise from the ocean, you ae looking a bit too far North. You can also check for an evening cruise, depending on time of moonrise for date in question. Aloha

What are the 3 largest cities in Hawaii?

Honolulu, Hilo and Kailua.Honolulu, Hilo and Lanai City. Not clear how Lana'i City fits in this answer. First, there are no separately incorporated cities in the entire state, since the political structure is based on counties (Honolulu, Hawaii, Maui (except Kalaupapa), and Kaua'i). Other than the "City and County of Honolulu" no actual cities by standard definitions should be stated. If determined by population, then I do not see how Lana'i City (~3000) compares to other Maui towns of Kahului (~20,000), Wailuku (~12,000) or Lahaina (~9000). Lana'i City does not even fit in the list of the top 50 population centers in Hawaii. If determined by name, then "Pearl City", "Makakilo City", or possibly "City of Refuge" could also be included, but that does not seem to make sense either. This question and answer needs much improvement.

Do you have to be full hawaiian to get on some islands in Hawaii?

No, to get to all 8 islands of the U.S. State of Hawaii all you have to do is book a flight from Honolulu, HI from the Honolulu International Airport (HLU-Oahu) to the Hilo International Airport (HLA-Big Island) to see both of the most populous cities, which are located throughout the course of the U.S. State of Hawaii. Now, if you want to go to the other Hawaiian Islands such as La'nai, Maui, Kahoolawe, and Lihue then you'll have to book a private flight from one of Honolulu's or one of Hilo's private airports.Source(s): My Common Hawaiian Knowledge

On which island is Mauna Loa located on?

Mauna Loa is a large shield volcano on the "big island" of Hawaii in the US state of Hawaii. Mauna Loa occupies more than half the island and erupts almost continuously, adding to the land area of the island with its lava flows. Hawai'i is the latest island of the Hawaiian islands to form. It is believed that all five of the existing islands (and some sea mountains) were formed by the same type of crustal rift that is feeding Mauna Loa. As the Pacific Plate slid over a "hot spot" in the underlying mantle, magma escaped to make new eruptions and form new islands. (see related link)
