There was also a myth going around at those times that a Chihuahuas growl could make peoples ears bleed so the British would often let them lose in the German tranches to 'deafen' them from knowledge of bomb alarms. This determines the reason for the saying 'Your like a chihuahua in Germany, cute but deadly'.
