Henry VIII (b. 1491) died on the 28 January 1547 at the Palace of Whitehall in London, at the age of 55, having reigned since 21 April 1509.
He had asked to be buried next to his third wife Jane Seymour, who had died in 1537, only days after giving birth to Henry's only legitimate son, Edward (later Edward VI). Henry and Jane are interred together in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, England.
