he went to live at Mount Vernon soon after his father's death in 1743, to live with his half-brother. He lived there off and on (going away for political work, war, presidency, etc.) and he died there (and is buried there) on December 14, 1799
Martha Washington was the first First Lady of the United States. She was born on June 2, 1731 and died on May 22, 1802 of a sickness. George Washington, (her husband), died a couple years before her of a sickness too.Martha Washington was married to George Washington.
Amelia Earhart and George Putnam Amelia's husband used to live in Atchison,Kansas.
Yes she did. When she met George she was a widow with 2 children and several years older than Washington. Just being a woman alone in the 1700's was hard and I imagine George was not an easy man to live with. He was not the type of fellow that you walked up and told a joke to. I think he was rather stern, had a big ego, and stayed to a strict schedule in life. The fact that he was gone to war for several years was also hard on her and there was a large plantation to run. Yet, when he died she refused to come to the service and watched from an upstairs window. After his death she pretty much lived in one room at Mt. Vernon.
Virginia
Mount Vernon was their home although Martha traveled wherever Washington's work took him. (Including to the camps during the war, and to the capitol during his presidency.)

Yes, absolutely. While the White House in Washington DC had not yet been built, they lived together on an estate in Mount Vernon VA. By all accounts, they were very close and had a loving relationship.
geogre washingtons wife Its George and George Washington didn't have a wife, so the answer is Abigail Smith Adams Abigail Adams was the first lady to live in the White House, but George Washington DID have a wife. Her name was Martha Washington. But Martha and George couldn't have lived in the White House because it wasn't built yet. Even when Abigail moved in, it was unfinished. ( I think later, when Abigail was in her early 70's, the rest of the White House was built.)
No. But Martha Washington's home before her marriage to George was called the White House Plantation. This was likely not the namesake of the Presdiential home, as the White House was not completed until after Washington left office. The first President to live there was John Adams in 1800.
