In the 1800s, English people lived mostly in England, but they also lived all around the world as that was the time when the British Empire grew to the point that the sun never set on it. English people lived in North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, China, India, and many other places.
In China and they lived mostly in the cities because it was rural.
