the reason for sending the children crusade was because they were the holiest and most pure people to succeed because others had failed.

The Children's Crusade of 1212 was a popular religious movement led by children and young adults to reclaim the Holy Land. It is said that thousands of children from France and Germany embarked on a journey to Jerusalem, but most were tricked or sold into slavery before reaching their destination. The outcome of the crusade was tragic, with most of the participants either dying or being enslaved.

No, it was during the Children's Crusade which came later. The Children's Crusade (like the Fourth Crusade) was a failure before it began. It was supposed that the children might succeed because of their innocence, but after reaching Marseilles they were betrayed and sold into slavery.
