greeks as we all know come from Phoenicians

the Phoenicians were a civilization that dates back to 1200 BC (late bronze age). Some historians will say that they existed as early as 1000 years before that.

i think Greeks existed before that.. The Phoenicians and Greeks were trading partners.

the word Phoenician is Greek and appears first in Greek writings about 900 BC. the word means red and that is because the Phoenicians were popular for making some kind of purple cloth. many historians believe that Greeks come form Phoenicians and the Greek alphabet was taken from the Phoenicians as well but archaeological findings prove otherwise. The Grecians were building cities in the beginning of the bronze age 3300 BC along with Egypt. Mesopotamia is a city that was built around that time and Mesopotamia is a Greek word. it means "in the rivers". This is a controversial question that has been argued by historians for a while now. Greeks must come from some kind of Semitic civilization like the Phoenicians but who knows?

Recent findings prove that the first settlement in the Peloponnese date back to the Neolithic age (7th millennium BC). I don't think the Phoenicians existed at that time. This question remains a mystery till this day.

No one is sure where they came, but they came some where from Europe, asia, and the Middle East.
