Where did the Greek language from?

there is much speculation exactly where it came from but historians are pretty certain that the greek alphabet was adopted from the pheonicians which is now pretty much modern day Lebanon.

i believe all languages slowly evolve from others but greek could have very well been developed where modern day Greece is now... it certainly is the oldest language in Europe and if you go back a few dialects quite possibly the oldest language in the world.

all the indo-european languages structurally came from greek including all the romance languages like italian and spanish even though greek is not considered a romance language, they know that those languages came from greek and if you listen you'll hear the similarities.
