The Mayflower Master Christopher Jones set anchor in Plymouth Harbor (modern day Massachusetts), December 21, 1620. Two of the first colonists to set foot on "Land" (the area was considered march land at that time and few rocks were found in that area, the shore line has changed dramatically since the 1600s) were Edward Winslow and William Bradford.

They landed at Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620.

Massachusetts is part of the region of the U.S. known as New England.

Contrary to the popular myth, the Europeans landed in what is now Provincetown, Cape Cod.

Visitors to the island can see where the Euros met the great Indian chief Massasoit ( for whom the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is named) as well as the stately Pilgrim monument. The foreigners did not settle in P-town - they were probably afraid because it is a very narrow peninsula, surrounded on three sides by ocean - they sailed on almost another hundred miles to a site that is now called Plymouth, Massachusetts.
