The US fought two so called "Hispanic" wars:
1. Mexican War 1846-1848 in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Mexico proper. California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico all later became states...and were territories "won" (taken) from Mexico during that war.
2. The Spanish-American of 1898 (only lasted 6 months). Was fought in Cuba and the Philippines. Leasing rights in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines were won (taken) from Spain during that war.
Both wars were declared wars.
The American Civil War & Vietnam Wars were un-declared wars.
