They raided Britain's coasts, Ireland, North Spain, West France, and around the Baltic Sea (Russia, Ukraine, and such). They usually raided monestaries and churches, where most of the money was. They'd use that money to fund a new campaign. Rarely would they stay and settle a location.

I know this isn't your question, but I want to put my two cents in. Their expansionist raids caused Europe to become heavily armed in defense against hit-and-run tactics. Once the Viking Age died out, the Europeans were still armed to the teeth and the soldier peoples who had spent generations fighting invaders had nobody to fight anymore. They resorted to their own brand of raiding. The pope solved the issue by sending them to Jersualem to conquer the Holy Land. The Vikings indirectly caused the crusades. And, the crusades did a whole lot to change the world forever.

I hope I helped.

Vikings raided all along the coasts and navigable rivers. They raided from the shores of Germany and Britain, all along the coasts of France and Spain, across the Mediterranean, and as far as Constantinople.

Coastal villages and churches in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. An interesting fact about them is that they would wear their treasure on their bodies. They took wax and sealed the pieces of gold and coins to their body hair. Researchers found evidence of this in Irish caves where a group of villagers hid. They found the bones ( many beheaded) of the villagers, some bits and pieces of clothing, and on the ground was gold coins with wax on them. I guess there was quite a bit. They think that as the Vikings killed the villagers that they started to sweat and the coins waxed to their hair fell off as the wax got soft under their clothing.
