Forensic pathologist weekly work hours are about 12-73 hours depending on the job setting. Unlike other professions there is no time limit. We are called when there is work and when there is a body to be inspected.
There is no age requirement however, since all pathologists are medical doctors, in order to become a pathologist, one must complete an undergraduate degree with pre medical course work, go on to medical school and complete a medical doctorate and then do a residency in forensic pathology in order to be allowed to practice.
Forensic means "used or applied in the investigation and establishment of facts or evidence in a court of law, as in "forensic photograph" or "forensic ballistics." Therefore, forensic pathology is the study of abnormal conditions of the human body that may need to be debated in court. A forensic pathologist might work in a medical examiner's office or be a coroner. General pathology deals with the identification of diseases and abnormal conditions of the human body in general. General pathologists work for hospitals or laboratories, usually in connection with surgeons or tissue samples from other sources, to determine the presence of disease.

What an interesting question! I assume the answer is as variable as the personalities of people are... I am a forensic psychologist and I work with profilers, evaluators, forensic psychiatrists, technicians, police officers, etc... I would like to think that my personal life is normal. The one difference, I suppose, is that I cannot talk about my work and I work in a setting that is considered dangerous by societal standards. I am so used to it at this point that I think nothing of strapping on my vest (stab-proof) and seeing blood on a daily basis. It is like any other job to me. One problem - if you are female and you are single, it is kind of hard to get a date after the topic of work comes up. Most men want to feel as though they are the tough ones. When you work in a setting that is intimidating to everyone, it kind of takes the machismo away, you know? Problem #2: clients eventually parole & there is a fear of running into them sometimes.
