the line starts with the fuel filter in the tank and travels up to the carburetor out of the carburetor into the primer bulb, out of the primer bulb back in the tank

fuel line routing is as follows for all 2 cycle with primer ball external to the carb. remember the fuel is sucked into the carb, not puished or blown into the carb. the filtered line from the fuel tank goes to the "in" side of the carb. this is usually right next to the high speed adjustment screw on a walbro carb. the "out" line from the carb goes to the suction side of the primer ball, the output of the primer ball goes back to the return line in the fuel tank. if you have to run the choke and the carb high speed screw will not adjust properly, reverse the in and out lines to the carb.
To purchase Poulan chainsaw parts you can go to Sears Parts Direct, Poulan Pro Spare Parts, Repair Clinic, Jack's Replacement Parts, eBay and Order Tree.
Poulan has a diaphragm that goes bad in the carb. It's not expensive to fix it yourself if you do things like that. Take it in and it's $50.00. Plug foul out often too and simulate a fuel problem. Good luck!
The fuel line will come from the gas tank and go up the engine. The fuel line goes into the tank.
Would need to know model no. to be sure but normally you fish the fuel filter from the tank and pull the fuel line out. Now thread twine through the hole and out the fuel cap hole. Cut the new line to a one inch taper, now tie the twine about the middle of the taper add a little motor oil at the tie point and pull through the hole. Replace the fuel filter and you are ready to go.
Follow the fuel line from the top of the engine back to the firewall. The fuel line will go to the top of the fuel filter on the firewall.
It is not real clear, but the parts breakdown is linked below. To tell the logic of it, the line with the filter attached will go into the pump side of the carb (often the bottom) and the discharge will exit the mteering side. The pump side will have "flappers" and the metering side will have a metal disc.
On the side of the throttle body where the fuel feel line and the fuel return line go in there is another spot for a hose to go in this is for the fuel pressure gauge you must hook a fuel like into this then to your Gage fuel pressure at idle should be 14-16 psi.
It doesn't have a vacuum line attached to the fuel pressure regulator.
Here you go (just learned this the hard way): # 2 lines go to the fuel tank: 1 all the way to the bottom, this is the fuel supply line and should have a good fuel filter on it; the other should only go in to the tank 1/2" to 3/4", this is the fuel return # the above mentioned fuel supply line connects direct to the carb on the chain side of the saw # another third hose connects the carb (on the starter side) to the inlet valve of the primer bulb (this is the shorter protrusion of the primer bulb) # the outlet valve on the primer bulb connects to the fuel return hose that goes back to the tank good luck
the fuel return line is on your fuel rail. it is part of the Pressure regulator assembly. Please view my Bio for access to my Saturn help site. in the fuel folder, go to Fuel pressure lines. the return line is highlited in green for you
super easy...two lines and done. The FUEL line coming from behind the drivers side strut tower is your fuel FEED line. Ther is another line right under it but its not a fuel line its a evap line. The FUEL line going from the engine to the filter is the RETURN line. Hook those up accordingly and add the vacuum line...and you're ready to go.
go to faerie forest and kill chainsaw sneevils until you get it.
