If you are refering to the timing chain teeth, you want the lower and smaller crank gear to have its punch mark aligned at 12:00. The Keyway on the crankshaft should be at aprox the 2:00 position when the punch mark is at 12:00. The upper cam sprocket punch mark needs to be aligned at the 6:00 position. Doing this will put both punch marks at the closest point to each other. Use a ruler or a good eye to make sure they are in line. Do this with the chain set aside to get everything in line before you add the chain. Then remove the cam sprocket to add the chain. But be carefull not to move the cam as you reinstall the sprocket and chain.
