When you get ready to run the vacuum line from the turbo 400 trans modulator to an Edlebrock Performer 800 CFM carb, attach the vacuum line for the transmission vacuum modulator to the bottom constant vacuum source or the plug that is below the throttle plate. After that, install the vacuum advance to the port that is signaled or right above the throttle plate. Once that is completed, install the large vacuum line to the back of the carb for the power brake.
no unless so one make a kit to do that tranadap.com 400 trans is longer than 350trans best to rebuild 350 trans i can rebuild for 500.00 you will have better trans then bsnward@yahoo.com
You should check autozone.com. Click on Repair info, then Vehicle Repair Guide , then you can select your vehicle type, "driveability & emission controls", then vacuum diagrams. There are some 8 cylinder ones listed.
Yes...they are the same. The only thing to look for is the tail shaft length. There is a a short shaft and long shaft.
The 350 uses a cable for the kick down detent. The 400 uses a larger yoke to fit the tailshaft.

It is a plane figure bounded by 400 straight lines.
Well, the tranny modulater, requires manifold vaccuum, to make the trans shift. So, a runner on the intake, or the carb BASE PLATE. Now, if you have a vaccuum line, you probably have a TH350. If the oil pan on it is shaped like an square, with a notch cut out of one of the corners, it is a TH350. 400's, do not require vaccuum.
The TH 400 has the vacuum modulator attached to the passenger side of transmission. The TH 350 has the vacuum modulator attached to the rear of transmission. The transmission oil pan on the TH 400 is anything but square.
