For a 1994 Ford Aerostar, you should use Mercon automatic transmission fluid (ATF) as the power steering fluid. It's important to check the owner’s manual or consult with a mechanic to ensure you're using the correct fluid for your specific vehicle model. Using the wrong type of fluid can lead to steering issues or damage to the power steering system.

To bleed the power steering pump on a 1997 Ford Aerostar, start by ensuring the reservoir is filled with the appropriate power steering fluid. With the engine off, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to help remove air. Then, start the engine and continue to turn the wheel from lock to lock, checking the fluid level and adding more if necessary. Repeat this process until the steering feels smooth and there are no air bubbles in the fluid.
To replace the pulley on the power steering pump of a 1995 Ford Aerostar, first, remove the serpentine belt and disconnect the power steering pump from its mounting. Use a pulley puller to carefully remove the old pulley from the pump shaft. Once the old pulley is off, position the new pulley on the shaft and use a pulley installer tool to press it onto the pump evenly. Finally, reattach the power steering pump and reinstall the serpentine belt.
